Lol thanks, but it is only a logical conclusion that Zuma will not go silently into the night, if you look at his past behavior and his brilliant maneuvering over the years. You have to give credit where credit is due, the man is a master chess player.

Also I think that it is logical that a clever political strategy does not include getting rid of your greatest asset (Zuma) right now, because then come 2019, enough time will then have elapsed to possibly turn the ANC around from a negative to a more positive, ergo using corruption, economic situation etc as campaign slogans, will no longer be as effective. Therefore imo it is very shortsighted of the opposition to try and oust Zuma before 2019 and frankly it does not make sense to me at all, it is not the way I would have played it at all.

EDIT: Unless of course their strategy in the past and also now, is not actually to oust him for real, but by repeatedly trying to do so, knowing full well that it will fail, they are instead purposely highlighting the fact that the ANC protect and support a corrupt president, in which case I have to say that it does make sense I guess and is indeed a clever strategy, but it can also very easily backfire and they may end up loosing their 2019 "campaign asset" for real this time around.

@Sibyl, I have it on good authority that the opposition never really wanted Zuma to go as it suited them that the ANC and country was being led by him. He weakened the ANC and is the primary reason they lost so much support during the local elections. They at least wanted him around for next year's elections.

So in a secret motion of no confidence vote, will the oppsition vote to keep Zuma in, and thereby creating turmoil within ANC? :-)

Seems to me we will have to wait till 22/2 before there will be any voting on the issue. In my opinion it was agreed to keep the original date as Gatgaba must deliver the Budget before he follows his current President footsteps out Goverment.

As for the President, with all the current "arrest" regarding State Capture, he must have decide it is more comfortable at the official presidential residence than sharing a room with Duduzane and the Gupta Brothers at Kgosi Mampuru. So clinging like a "drol" to a woolly blanket, he is clining onto his job.
