Even though I don't condone ladies who double book clients I can understand why some do.
Today I had a taste of a bad punter (& I detest that word!)
Calls this morning after 10am, asks for a 12pm appointment. I send my address and turn away 3 clients who want to book either the same time or just before.
He calls at 11:50am to say he's at the racetrack (6kms from my home) he may be late. I say you're not far from me see you shortly. 12:10 still nothing. I send an sms "hi...are you lost?" No response.
Another sms at 12:16 "Hi. Unfortunately if you're not here by 1230pm I have to take another appointment. I've already turned away 3 clients wanting appointments now. I'm running a business & cannot afford no shows as they impact on my monthly expenses. If you were where you said you were you should've been here by now."
No word about traffic jams or anything so I'm assuming either he's lost or wasting my time because if he was at the racetrack at 11:50 he should've been at my place by 12:15 latest, I've driven the road with traffic and without.
Then his response at 12:25: "Huge traffic jams and robots out after track. Turned around and only got back now. Sorry but my business cannot afford the washe of time either."
So who wasted whose time?
And if you're stuck in traffic (like the gent who came through, thankfully!, when I messaged and said I had a no show, was in the same traffic but still arrived) why not send an sms to inform the lady you booked?
In this whole scenario who has lost the most? The lady whose business relies on clients arriving and paying for a session? Or the guy who has a running business which he leaves to come for a session, chooses to turn around, not inform the lady so she can MAYBE get in another client so the whole day hasn't been a complete waste?
Sir, like you, I have bills to pay and food to buy. And under pressure because there is now one working day left of this month when many are away on holiday, and I still have a few k to earn, which now will not be possible. What you did was disrespectful to me as well as my business. You have been added to #TheList

I agree clients should atleast reply if they get real delayed....

sometimes I also take double bookings. just for in case but not always. and if I do I inform my client If I sense one of them not going to make it.

I feel your frustration...
I have the same experience now.

but from now on I will only give a limit of 20-30 min from orignal appointment then if the client did not call or let me know in anyway possible I am moving on.

That will be my Golden Rule
from now on.
