@Mia. Any idea if the owner received the rent? If you like your surroundings, I hope you know the actual owner, whom obviously want to rent out the unit... If the guy just rented and then rented it to you, I won't waste much time, the law system in SA is weak... Just try to locate the owners to continue the stay, or move out as quickly as possible...

About 15 years ago I bought a manufacturing business for close to R1mil.

About 3 weeks into being the new owner a guy walks in and asks me who the hell I am. I responded by asking who the hell he is.

Turns out he was the real owner and I gave a million bucks to the guy who managed the company for him.

To this day I haven't seen a cent of that money. The guy who scammed me is gone and no one has ever found him.

Took me years to recover and today I see that money as school fees.
