[QUOTE;1237070;yolan] Just wondering ....do woman actually have regrets about leaving men like men do about leaving some woman

I don't, I'm just not wired like that, if I did leave someone, it would probably be for an irreconcilable reason

I agree with Zoey.. I left what i called the love of my life after many years of difficulty in marriage... Everybody use to berate me cos i couldnt leave him..i know myself... Do enough tilI get to a point of irreconcilable.. And we done..no regrets no backpedaling.. We done.. Or you done.. MOVING ON..thats it. Looking in retrospect I don't even feel sad about it.

I think that sometimes people in general have too much pride ....instead of admitting mistakes we tend tend to justify them which tends to lead to regrets later on in life .

By the time you realize pride gets you nowhere it's often to late . The grass isn't always greener on the side so to speak so love those who treat you well

Yes I have regrets.
More then I should.
Now I know it's out of my hands and I'm not the only one going through this emotions.
But at that moment when I was with someone it felt right.
I'm not easy letting someone go..
I'm very consistent/comfortable in falling into routine.
Only easy way for me to move on is thinking the worst possible things about a person and how they made me feel at that moment I couldn't go on and juse want to end the pain.
Yes I was the one that divorce twice.
Both wanted to come back.
Problem is when I want you.. you don't want me....so I move on and sit with the idea that you never existed in anyway.(a mind is a powerful thing it can make or break you).
Problem is; when you start thinking of letting someone go; all the good memories comes up.
After a while you think of every emotional moment you went trough and start building your walls so high no one can enter without being judged.
In my life I'm usually the last one to move on....
I would rather be unhappy alone then be unhappy in a next relationship.
Dont know how anyone can move on and knows everything about a person; and years walk past that person and be total strangers.

I think it's because of the rejection in the last stages of a relationship or the way you broke up.
I'm honest I've never been friends with one off my x's.
I don't see the use.
I don't contact them in anyway unless it's for my kids.

When it's done...it's done.
Why hang on to something in the past; if it didn't work in the first place?
Where you friends before lovers?
If yes; and you have a forgiving heart...you can be friends. But that's something on another level if you still have feelings while breaking up.
Why do I need to go through that pain to see someone move along....and I'm staying behind with a broken heart?

Well what if you made you fair share of mistakes that led to the breakup ???
Often people don't like to admit or acknowledge that they were also wrong and played a part in things getting sour

It's debatable but when shit happens you also need to look into yourself as to why it happened

This thread caught my eye a few days ago...im not a chatty guy, but here goes...

I think its a personality trait that differs from person to person, regardless of gender. Imo, it mostly stems from previous relationships and builds your character and defence when it comes to breakups and regret. As the saying goes.."once bitten..twice shy".
Regret is an ugly thing for some people....it sometimes shows weakness and if that feeling takes over, the self defence mode kicks in and..only my opinion...thats when some people shut off completely, not needing closure or answers.
Personally I carry regret in a big way...I always wonder what I could have done differently...or wonder if I made other choices could I have saved the relationship? Im that guy...even should it not be any of my doing, I would still have regret and carry blame within myself.
Dont get me wrong, I have done stupid things to destroy a relationship with what could have been the love of my life...and for that I am truly regretful...I might never get over it..who knows? But then, thats who I am...not because Im a man or weak...but because Im a person who was sculpted this way by my past experiences.
That being said...every regretful decision or experience I go through teaches me something about myself and my decisions. Every relationship, failed or fantastic shows me my flaws and strengths.
I will embrace regret, because thats who I am and it makes me stronger. I will learn from it and I will be a better person because of it....
