Someone best advise HOE that their Friday afternoon function will have to be renamed to "Free barbeque day".
For snacks they will serve spiced, dried meat made from jumping antelope and a fruit platter of mandarin oranges.
This will be followed by a roll with traditional South African sausage, a kebab on a stick, corn on the cob and a porridge-like side serving made from maize meal
Desert will be a sweet pastry dessert dipped in a syrup.
Of course the venue will be their semi-open thatched structure used for entertaining.
Guests will come from all corners of a raised plateau stretching from the eastern side of the Free State (province) up north including the provinces of Gauteng and North West. Many will travel in their utility trucks.
Dress code is relaxed and sneakers are permitted.
Ridiculous.

@Honourable Member you may want to edit the word meaning "Place of Gold" before you too incur the wrath of the powers that be!!!
I have been studying various courses over the last few years, from CPR to First Aid, Restaurant Management, to my NQF4. Currently, I am doing my TEFL/TESOL course. It's amazing to see how languages are taught compared to how we learn our "mother tongue". Direct translations from other languages can become very comical or very misconstrued. But as a country that has 11 official languages, it's difficult to express ourselves only in English as we were brought up using a diversity of all our 11 languages. There are so many South African words that you cannot translate into English or into any other language, that defines us, that we all use. Wish I could give an example, but I would probably get banned.
I love our diversity and the uniqueness that makes us South Africans!
Funny enough, the most popular way to teach L2 (which is a second language and not one's native language) is the ESA system? (I just can't get away from ESA as hard as I try, lol!)
Educate, Study and Activate?
Or in our ESA purple world, we might describe it as Erogenous, Seduce and Arouse?
Well I never.... To Be or not to be, that is the question .... Whether it is nobler to suffer in the mind the strings and arrows of ouraged .... let's just drop it before someone mistakes Shakespeare for some semi- indigineous African language......
