They must get some weird kind of a kick from trolling or probably have nothing better to do with their time. Much like the nanas that make appointment and not honor them. (not referring to the guys who have the decency to let you know that they are unable to honor their appointments)

Attention-seeking is the primary reason for trolling. That's why trolls disappear when they are ignored.

Many get the same dopamine rush from trolling as we get from a new erotic encounter! They log in often, just to see the chaos they are causing - and get excited by it. Almost like the thrill of booking a new lady.

A lot of them desperately require attention, because they get little attention in their lives.
