It was R500 the last ban.
But now a high of R1000 you don't just keep around your spare pocket.

Actually a very good idea Dropkick, or a warning system included with a sliding scale system.

I have been working for large multi-national corporates all my life, have even written some their policies recently. What I can tell Antionette and ESA is that when it comes to a conduct policy they all end with "contravention of the policy may result in a written warning, disciplinary action or dismissal".

So it will take into account the severity of the conduct to impose the appropriate form of punishment. Maybe ESA can just think of giving a warning to especially the advertisers for lesser offenses.

Just a recommendation.

Would the people affected be allowed to have representation at their meeting for the sanction to be issued?

Yes Tegwane...again it depends on severity.

In 2012 in London I was myself the subject of action for a lessor offense. Stupidity on my side but also with good reason. I was allowed to continue with my normal duties while the investigation took place. Ended up in receiving a warning. Bear in mind I was a contractor and not permanent staff, so they could have dismissed me immediately.

Another example...recently a FX Trader at a large bank hid R50m of losses in another trader's account so it would not partially offset R100m profits made. This was right before bonus time of course. In my opinion a dismissible offense. After a one week suspension...I saw him back at his desk.

Point is not all cases are treated the same and receive the same punishment.
