Dear Fellow punters and ladies from the purple world.

How long before the date of travel does someone need to have his/her yellow fever injection. I heard there is a new 10 day rule so that the person can only fly back to SA as from the 10th day only.

Might sound out of context but I am trying to fly a lady from SA to Tanzania in the coming days.

My experince was that I needed the injection 2 weeks before travel, and the booster shot 3 months after the first one. This was a few years back before travelling to Brazil.
The Travel Clinic are very good at advising when you need the shots and when you can travel.

Just get the shot and the card and go without the 10 days. They will not check the date on arrival. As long as you can produce the yellow card, it's fine.

You travel so much right ? In which country have they even opened that yellow card to even check the details of the person holding it on arrival? None ....

Immigration is so hectic when you get to Dar, that as long as you have it and wave it at the health official, you don't have to worry.

They just see my YFC and throw it right into my face . Don't even check the validly period.
