Good one Johnny, agree 100%.

I have family, friends, work mates etc. that have all moved either down south (Aus/ NZ) or north (UK Europe Canada) and they are the ones spreading more shit about SA with fake news.. kak.

I'm sure this just makes them feel better about their kak move.

Time for a beer!

I once went to Builders warehouse and I approached a white lady coming in the opposite direction. There was ample space for both of us to walk but she stepped off the kerb with a scowl as if I did not want to give way. Now I pride myself on playing the gentleman in all my interactions especially with the opposite sex.
I was depressed from that Sunday morning well into the working week. I still am.

Ahhh! I feel much better having it shared it on this thread. Thank you.

South Africa is still a great place.

Having lived abroad for a number of years then returning home tought me a lot.

I've learned that we are a friendly, compassionate and caring nation. Our standard of living is so high that a middleclass person in SA lives the life that billionaires live abroad. Our scenery, nature and out doors lifestyle is superior to many other places.

I remember jumping on a subway in mid winter going to the airport and looking around only to find not a single person smiling, nobody greeted me and everyone just looked gloomy. The next morning I landed in SA and was warmly welcomed from the moment I got off the plane. I went home and in the street was a drunk guy that was laughing and singing as he walked. I'll never forget thinking to myself, why the fuck am I not living here.

While we bask in the afterglow of waxing lyrical about the country let's also remember that it is the most economically unequal country in the world. Atleast according to the World Bank, maybe our rose tinted glasses are shaded a bit more than others.
