But you don't need to be giving freebies, the guy getting the freebie won't feel screwed over when he finds out the room fees might be the cost of a typical punt anyway, and that ex might actually decide to book you and you can make some bucks.

The only reason she is looking for someone high up in a specific bank is because she wants the other guy to recognise you (ie you work with the other guy). Otherwise she would just get any random guy.
