If so, and he is on the older side, remember that we were raised in a society where we were programmed to see black people as ugly. Let's be honest, not just ugly, but sub-human. And we were programmed to believe black people knew they were ugly and inferior.

If you dared admit to a friend that you found a black girl attractive, then he would spread the word and soon everybody would talk of you as if you had a serious mental illness. You'd have been a freak. And in some cases you'd even get a visit from a yellow police van.

Agree that the gent did not express himself well and if he was being disrespectful fuck him. Trust me I have learnt that every girl has a gent that thinks she is beautiful and fuckable. Also learnt there are a lot or arseholes out there.

Compliments are of the most sincere you could come across because it means that person has overcome some bias/prejudice (possibly for good) for them to say those words.

Not saying it isn't insensitive, but it's always helpful to understand context in a society as complex as ours.

Everyone has their own unique genetic make up that makes everyone special. Over the years you grow to appreciate all the finer details and battle scars and appreciate them.

As a young 21 year old you marry you high-school sweetheart, as she ages and matures, features change, she has a good couple of kids, you grow a bunch of grey hair too, you learn that beauty comes from the person's personality not only their looks. The scars she earned was what she went through to get to where she is today.
