I could relate to this as sometimes even when punting its easier when the other person is an object of my fantasy. When I was younger, more selfish and a little less refined this did not bother me much, and, I would often get carried away during my sessions to the point that the SPs would snap at me saying "I am not a toy I am a human being". I have had a few occasions where I have a whole elaborate fantasy of how the session will go and what I will do with the SP and then when I meet her and have a conversation and maybe pick up that she is going through some personal issues or trauma and then I immediately lose sexual interest as my protective nurturing side kicks in. There have also been times where with my regulars I notice subtle changes that indicate to me that they are facing some trials, and then my concern for their well-being outweighs my carnal desire to objectify in my carnal fantasy. It's more difficult with regulars as I find that if I have enough sex with anyone I eventually regrettably form a connection with them and vice versa.
This objectification also seems to go both ways as many women see men as a means to an end - a means to financial freedom or upward social mobility. Again it's a similar dynamic, not wanting to see the other person as a human being - objectification. For many SPs a punter is just a quick buck, they also do not want to see his human side just as he doesn't want to see hers. it's just about making sure they can get their money and get him in and out as quickly as possible. I use you and you uSe me. I suppose the transactional and crude nature makes this sort of interaction inevitable for the most part.
I guess this just makes me appreciate the SPs and punters who see and acknowledge the humanity in each other first and foremost.

As a youth, I actually had a fantasy to pay someone for no holds barred sex. No emotions. No connection. Just raw physical pleasure.
ESA has delivered to this effect except that what I thought I wanted wasn't at all what I ended up enjoying.
To me, connecting deeply with a human being who wants to connect with you on that intimate level, who wants to give themselves to you and who allows that level of vulnerability is now my thing.
Something that's actually harder to find in the punting world in my experience.

There's a time (and willing SPs) for carnal fantasies. And there's a time (and willing SPs) for a more vulnerable and intimate connection

We are all people. There is a big difference in paying someone that is doing a job for you and appreciating the work that someone is doing for you.
Similarly there is also a big difference between the price and value of something.
