@Merlot and @AnthonyEdwards you guys are talking about 2 different venues in the same(ish) area. Amsterdam Lounge (the one that the OP was talking about) charges R850 for 60 min, R1050 for 90 min. Spa Paradise charges R1150 for 60 min and R1700 for 90 min. (Both venues ads currently active)

While there is nothing wrong with the Amsterdam venue at all the Spa Paradise venue has among the best rooms in town with a much higher quality feel to them, you do get what you pay for.

Gents, the rates discussion is important.

It seems that the Massage Venues are becoming quite expensive when comparing with FH providers working independently.

On the Westrand you have Spa Paradise which charges R 1150 ph for massage with HR and now Amsterdam which allegedly charges R 850 (or there abouts) for the same. (edited as per Burgle's Post)

In Sandton the average fee is between R 800 to R 900 (LeBelle, Les Boudior, Le Bijou)

In all cases the request for extras is discussed directly in the room with the lady in question but in my previous experience they are between R 1000 to R 1500 depending on what is offered.

So for full service, at a Massage Venue, you will be paying in the region of R 2000 to R 2500. This in my view is expensive.

Top independent ladies are offering the same FH rates, negotiated up front from R 1500.

My opinion - the days of the massage venues and how they operate are numbered

In the end of the day it's about your budget and how you want to spend it. I am not a venue owner and can't tell them what to charge. If they make a profit with those rates, I am happy for them. Just not for me then.

I am just glad we now have more options here in the west.

@Burgle I think you hit the nail on the head. Thank you for clarifying. @Merlot and I both were talking about two different venues with completely different pricing structures.

From what I gather you are saying I have a few options:

1. Go to Spa Paradise and pay R1150 for 60 min
2. Go to Amsterdam and pay R1050 for 90 min - I get extra 30 min and can still give the lady the extra R100 as part of her tip.
3. Go to Amsterdam and pay R850 for 60 mins and still be able to afford extras.

At the end of the day we are not buying bread at shoprite and expecting to get cheese as an extra for free...

R100 really? That hardly make a dent in his point.

I think you just proved his point. He wants the bread and cheese but he comes there for R20 bread or R25 in this case and pays R180 for cheese (actually prices) which is 20 times what he expected to pay.

I think it's just you. While I may walk around with R20k cash all the time, I go to a punt with what is asked so I don't end up paying R500 for cheese when I can buy it for R110 on special most times used my big head. If the service is great, I'll go back again, and again if it's still good...

Guys you don't have to look very far on the Westrand for f/h ladies. Many of them the rates are between 850 and 1100. Then for the ones thats looking for mg and f/h your rates are 750 and extra 800 to 1k.

I do believe that majority of the mg want the moola but are all at venues where their earnings are capped thus they push their own agenda. It does cause a little shyt here and there. Then they add their extras to make 100% profit on that.

Westrand still keeps me going although I do see some ladies moving along.
