Hi The awkwardness only exists if u don't trust each other. If it is a rare wg friendship there isn't really an awkwardness and luckily for me I have a mother that knows what I do and supports me fully.

Being single and before I left SA to work in Africa I had one WG who was really a friend as well as a WG and she used to visit with her kids for the whole weekend, she introduced me to her mother and sister as well. Always paid for her services as well never took a freebie. At times she would be short for school fees medical etc. and I would pay it for her and she gave me her time equal to the amount spent

I still visit her when in SA
