Respect is earned, as the Kooni mentions above. By definition (and I'm playing loose with this) "respect is admiration for someone based on their abilities, qualities or achievements", hence it's a learnt response and not afforded to everyone. We all not necessarily going to have admiration for everything or the same thing, eg. I might admire a sex workers bj skills, my wife on the otherhand, may despise it.

This morning I was thinking how little contact I have with people in general due to my job being a bit isolating working from home and I must make an effort to get out more.
Just looking at this thread there are definitely a lot of people with some real issue out there and maybe just maybe I am better of without constant interactions with other humans.
