A lot of Kak happened in the world this weekend, it disturbs me that Paris seems to hog the headlines and none of the other incidents received little or no coverage. Too many people died and too few received the worlds attention as they should have. Still in shock that the worlds monuments lit up in French colors while Lebanon, Kenya and Iraq all who also suffered at the hands of these pigs were ignored. A very clear message in terms of where the bread is buttered was sent this weekend and it's enough to shake your core...
Not true, not true at all. Yes, they maybe didn't receive the same headlines but there also a reason for that, media saturation in those areas and the relentless cycle of violence have created a media dead spot. Bombs going off in Lebanon is not new, sorry to say, Hezbollah have gotten themselves right in the middle of the Syria mess so it was pretty much expected. The UN has been in Naqoura for how many years ? So say there was no international response simply isn't true.
Lebanon has been told for years it needs to disarm the Palestinians camps, disarm Hezbollah. It never did that. Getting into the IS conflict was always going to bring this result yet they followed the will of Iran and now the people sit with the consequences.
Same for Kenya. Same for Iraq, the world was informed very clearly when IS started their reign of savagery and the media was ignored and the warning ignored because no-one wanted to be condemned for entering Iraq again. Politicians all over the world carefully polled their constituents and were clearly told "no"... Not again.
Africa and the Arab world all stated clearly they wanted no western involvement in their countries and the west complied for the most part, barring the usual spy games.
Take SA's handling of Darfur and the ICC for example... We have giving them impunity for genocide so no one is surprised any more when they behave with said impunity.
You want to talk about skewed reactions, Israel in the UN. It is the only country to have a permanent session dedicated to it in the HR council. In the last 10 years over 90% of resolutions are focused solely on Israel, last year the ratio was 27 to 4, those 4 included China, North Korea, Myanmar, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Yemen and the rest of the worst violators in history compared to 27 directly aimed at Israel. Countries that are violators know that they can get away with anything as long as they can focus on Israel because the world simply follows the misdirection. Same as the US, they get called out the world over for getting involved but then nobody mentions all the Russian made equipment being used by terrorists the world over such as the incredibly complex BUK missile system used to down the Malaysian airliner, that could only have been operated by the Russians, yet there is no outcry.
France is a country that has always supported freedom movements, having played host to Arafat for how long. It has a large immigrant population from the Middle East and has been very tolerant of them. They have done nothing to warrant this attack compared with a majority of the west, this is one of the reasons for the outcry. There is no active conflict in the country, no saturation, this is one of the reasons for the outcry. France has been taking as many of the Syrian refugees as it could and it was some these refugees who did this, this one of the biggest reasons for the outcry.
The backlash for this coming in Europe, it has to. The far-right are going to whip up such an anti-immigrant sentiment that it will shock everyone.
