Honeybear,
pls stop it, you're blue already!
You clearly don't like the old colonial ways don't you?
Then explain why you seem sympathetic towards China, who has adopted the modern way of colonialism - they don't want the land, just what it produces, and they will get it cheap also?

Nene's only one of a few who are in the way of paving a smooth road to Zuma-riches, just watch this space, more heads will roll!

Some things we talk about till we past blue in the face - whether it's the holocaust, the apartheid crime or the invasion of Iraq ....
One day, the next generation will be blue in the face talking about Zuma's crimes, but as I said, if it's a choice of the old or the new, I'll take my chances and swim with the new smaller sharks, especially now that my swimming skills have improved !

Not a Zuma fan at all. He's learnt a lot from the previous white minority dictators that ran this country with impunity. But he too will be gone soon. However I'm pleased our country is trying to shake off the shackles of London and Brussels and moving towards Asia and South America.

Pray, did not the ANC want, nay demand, to be held to a higher standard of morality than the apartheid regime?

China has arrived on the African continent almost a century after the horse has bolted.
As we have been reminded so many times, us Africans are not the greatest swimmers, hence we did not swim with the previous corrupt sharks who made deals with the West, to the exclusion of the majority of South Africans but our swimming is improving so we'll take our chances.

What ? Like the chances Congo took, that left them Chinese built infrastructure that fell apart as soon as it was constructed... Have you seen what a Chinese built nuclear power station looks like, there's a great big one crumbling just outside of Kinshasa if you want to take a look.
Or maybe it's the propping up of regimes, well for only as long as it is beneficial to China, then you can roll up any trade agreement as smoke them... sort of exactly like what they did in Sudan after the split.
Quite possibly you mean the construction projects they promise to fund, with the caveat that all material and labour comes from China ?

In my travels all over this continent I have yet to see a single country actually reap long term benefits from dealing with any of the BRICS nations. Short term yes, the cash flows, but long term is a whole different game.

True deamonza, short term is all that some are interested in, see the current state of our infrastructure. Swimming with the sharks indeed, doing the backstroke, all the better to keep both eyes firmly fixed on the past!

Both the Chinese and the West are corrupt to an equal extent.
The weak will always be taken advantage of, mostly clandestinely, sometimes overtly.

This is true, no doubt...
The west do have only one thing in their favor in this and that is their development money typically has human rights caveat's.
The east couldn't give a flying poop, as long as the minerals flow, do what you like.

Sir, you are beyond the pale!

Have you heard of the West's murderous campaigns in Iraq, Palestine, Vietnam, Cambodia, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Egypt, Argentina, Guatemala etc

A blot on their conscience forever!

The new Finance minister is nothing more than a "Rubber stamp" for Zuma and his close friends to raid the treasury.
