Personally I think that punting is an acceptable form of cheating. There's no harm done.

The issue arises when muslim men take 2nd or 3rd wives. The only time I have ever seen a Muslim woman cheat without care of consequences was when her husband took another woman as his wife while still being married to her. And decided to split 50% of his time between her and the other woman.
