Absolutely agree, if it goes untreated. But with modern science and the fact that it is not such a social taboo now, speaking about mental health and reaching out for help, people do have help available IF they WANT help and have a support structure in place.

it's still pretty hard to get help. Try going to discovery without a referral from your dr to psych and then getting them for pay for one and the meds.

You do know I like you but, this smacks of hypocrisy and makes fun of those who really suffer from bipolar disorder.

Also resorting to AI to play doctor or diagnose a real problem as opposed to the tongue in cheek posting on this forum is sad .

Let me tell u this ...the fucknuts, the sociopaths that seem to have flown under your radar, the ones that are openly abusive toward others, for no apparent reason at all, talkibg about suicide ,I think need more help than a superfuck or any other jester who manages to get the real sociopaths out of the word work.

Let's start with Fullmont....

Damn.

Damn.

DAMN.

I am disappointed.

RB.

I actually am RB.

Simplification of a complex topic makes it more approachable. I was not going to post the DSM-5 criteria for bipolar on the purple pages.

The intent was to posit that sometimes what may seem like trolling may have deeper issues. It's an insinuation but in my own personal life, I've noted how powerful it is to highlight to some how important it is to consider that the perplexing/infuriating behaviour of others can sometimes be tied to mental health issues; not for the sake of endless tolerance though as those afflicted do still hold some responsibility to try work through their own issue in return.

As for the fucknuts, you can never accuse me of letting them fly under my radar. I've tackled them in the past as forum gatekeepers and have often cautioned against partaking in, or tolerating, such behaviour.

With that said, even the above behaviour could potentially be explained if linked to one or more mental or personality disorders.

We all have problems. We have seen people express problems as far as suicidal ideation on this forum and I myself have, in past, mentioned my own darknesses.

We have to make our issues approachable to make it easier for others to understand them in the hopes that we interact with more empathy for the struggles of others.

Thank you for your response DickRich2

I get what you say and agree with you...to a point.

But was your post not prompted by something on forum at present?

An assumption made to explain what...postings? ...presuming bipolar disorder because the classroom jester is being just that.

That is why I question your posting and timing.

I was off the esa forum since 2016 and returned 6 years later. Only 1 year on esa.

Was NEVER banned .

I wanted to rejoin Massage Inc and was told i had to have an active ad, once again, on esa if I wanted to be part of Massage Inc.

The hatred not only aimed at me on my return, i still question why, but among the posters was sickening.

Outright vile.

The freedom without shame or consideration hurling insults, degradation and belittling...prompted engagement by all talking about "popcorn" time.

WTF?????

Depression and suicide in THIS industry and living a life many ladies struggle with does not deserve the fucknuts freedom to spit and spew their sociopathic tendency looking to rile and sensationalise hatred as well as jealousy.

Again....of late being on the end of verbosity clearly showing distaste toward "RB" only because "RB" treats this platform as a public forum to engage all and sundry and not her personal playground.

A public space to engage without malice . Treat it as her marketing space as RB would wish to be treated and stand up to those who promote bullying not only toward RB BUT, anybody else, unwarranted and sick.

We all lose our tempers, get riled, say things and fight back.

How arrogant to imagine one would be liked or agreed with on everything.

Shit.

Only a narcissist , a pig headed person suffering real low self esteem would project themselves in attacks unwarranted toward others.

So you see most dear DickRich2....I have another outlook on bipolar and believe those that suffer from such delibitating afflictions are usually quite introvert and maybe even a little shy.

As to silly idiosyncrasies....damn! I myself am full of them and cannot but help laugh at myself at times and think...damn! Girl! ....does that make me bipolar?

Let us be mindful of each other for the ones with the worst afflictions are the most silent.

And shoeguy....mmmmmmm. sometimes I wonder why your very harsh words against many...

Ps. By the way RB ain't no different to the actual person, me, behind that pseudonym and proudly I stand behind the pseudonym

Russian Bridgitte.

RB.

To Bannedchod :

Stiff person syndrome is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms that come and go and can worsen over time. However, some people experience other symptoms such as an unsteady gait, or slurred speech. SPS symptoms are thought to be related to which type of SPS a person has. For example, I use a walking stick these days as I wobble a lot so the walking stick stops me from wobbling that much and falling. My speech is slurred but getting better. I still cannot pronounce words like sky, skort, school ,skirt, Skidaddle, anything that starts with an sc Or an sk. I really battle.
Although there is no treatment that cures stiff person syndrome, working with a specialist and maintaining symptom control can make it easier to live with the condition. I'm living with it and I have a great family that helps with prayers.
SPS most commonly develops in people ages 40 to 50. Mine started 2 years after I took the vaccine. I had severe back pain for over 2 years with no relief. My first doctor diagnosed me with spinal arthritis and gave me medication which helped the back pain. I wanted another script for my medication and I never had from the doctor again. So I went to a second doctor whom my partner has known since the 70s. He asked what my symptoms were and i told him i had back pain and slurred speech. Immediately he had the slurred speech, he referred me to a physician who then referred me to a neurologist. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks In total. SPS is thought to affect one to two people in a million and when I heard Celine Dion had it, I turned up my nose and said " these celebrities are the funny names they give their illness....stiff person syndrome. No one has ever heard of that. And guess who has it today? It's me!!!
Stiff person syndrome most often causes painful muscle contractions and spasms that often begin in the legs which makes you not walk well.
The spasms can occur in episodes, especially when a person with SPS is surprised or startled, or moves suddenly.
Depending on which part of the body is affected, the contractions can cause: Difficulty walking, and the person might space the feet wide to feel more steady, Unsteadiness and falling because of sudden spasms, which can lead to injuries. I have fallen so many times that my prescription lense is now scratched. Chronic pain in the back and difficulty swallowing so you can't eat much so you loose weight. I have lost about 15kg in 2 months.
Blood tests are performed to look at several factors, including the anti-GAD65 antibody. This antibody is present in up to 80% of patients who have classic SPS, and very high levels of the antibody are strong indicators of the condition. I started off with an MRI of my brain and spine In the pvt hospital I was admitted into. If you have never been in an MRI machine, pls pray you don't end up in there. They were scanning my brain for 50 mins and I had to stay still with all the noise the machine makes and it does not help if one is claustrophobic. It's literally hell on earth in that machine. The MRI did not pick up anything from my brain till I had a lumbar puncture which can help the doctor rule out other causes of your symptoms, as well as help look for SPS markers such as anti-GAD65 antibodies. Imaging studies can help your neurologist visualize your brain, spinal cord, nerves and other body structures. Usually, imaging studies are performed to rule out other conditions that can seem like SPS.
The lumbar puncture picked up that I had stiff person syndrome like Celine Dion....unbelievable!!! So I was surrounded by a physician, a speech therapist, a nutritionist, a neurologist and a physiotherapist in the hospital. Thank goodness for our medical aid.
My medications help reduce spasms, stiffness and pain for people with my condition. Oral muscle relaxers, such as diazepam and baclofen is part of my daily meds. I now chow 13 meds every day.
I take Valium every night as part of my medication....just a quarter of it.
Immune-based therapies for stiff person syndrome include:
Plasma exchange which I had 5 full body plasma exchange over 10 days in the hospital. I was taken about 20 tablets each day cos of the transplant. A special device was brought to the hospital and a new technician came every 2 days to drain my bad anti bodies and put in new ones. Each procedures took 2 hours and each treatment according to my medical aid cost 25000. And i had 5 treatments which has really helped. Only 1 or 2 people in a million get this and even the nurses asked me"what is Stiff person what? Then I have to explain to them that it's what Celine Dion has and then the words ofencouragement and prayers start. But there is no cure. I'm simply managing the symptomatic symptoms with medication. I'm okay. I just wobble without my walking stick and when I have it,people wonder someone as slim and fit as me is using a walking stick. It's called Still person syndrome!

I'm grateful to be living in a country where the medical system is good and my condition diagnosed and been treated. It can be confused with multiple sclerosis or spinal arthritis if a proper neurologist does not treat you. I'm so grateful for each day.
