At a risk of offending some people, I must ask this. Why do some WGs insist on putting make up on in a way that doesn't suit them?

Is there a reason why some WGs don't adapt to newer makeup trends and often come off looking either much older or looking unnatural (dare I say, like a clown)?

I have a few WGs in mind when asking this because, without the makeup, I can pick up that they very possibly would look better. To which I then ask, what is the purpose of putting makeup on in a way that doesn't enhance your looks?

There's one WG in particular whom I thought was in her mid 40s till she brought her styling into contemporary times and it took a good 10-15 years off her look.

It may be me picking at straws here but seeing as men are such visual creatures, are you not doing yourself and your business a disservice by not putting your best foot forward? There isn't a short supply of WGs who do nail it in the looks department after all.

If it was my choice I would not put any on....then again I don't like heavy makeup...
And if I don't I look sick(or it seems).
Sometimes natural beauty is the best!
VF really knows how to makeup and she does it well.
What I know from makeup isn't much... what about facial products!!!! Oegh please no!
The other problem is where you work from... the lights in you work area could make you look older op over makeup or even look like you haven't spend any time in front of a mirror.
For me it needs to be a soft natural look....

Robby, my man I feel your pain man.

Oh my word this annoys me.

Make up, much like aftershave on a guy, is a case of less is more.

Young ladies, please, you do not need to lay it on with a plasterer's trowel. You skin is youthful and sweet. Don't wreck it by not allowing it to breath.

Older ladies, does it ever occur to you that those, blemishes and marks are what makes you appealing? What makes you... you. Don't hide those, let us see them. They are wonderful.

Ladies, we guys like a bit of lippy, maybe something around the eyes and a little foundation with some powdering here and there. But here is the issue...

Ladies if you feel your face resembles a bag of spanner's, no amount of Mabelene will cure it.

But still, we will book you. Well maybe not me, maybe not Robby, but someone. You know why?...

Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

We are a strange bunch of bastards and for every ass faced bag of spanners there are a hundred guys that believe you are beautiful.

Fat, brown, skinny, pale, tall, short, slitty eyed, cow eyed, pimply, smooth skinned, large titted, pert breasted, fat assed, no-assed ladies.

Yes YOU! I'm talking to you with all of your insecurities, PUT THE TROWEL DOWN!

You really don't need it.

Smile at us, make us feel good and we will love you. And you know what? We'll even pay to love you!

My opinion, less is more, well in most cases.
Heavy makeup puts me off right away.

@le roux...I love you for this post! The problem is that from a young age girls are taught that they are not good enough...all in the name of consumerism. Really sad indeed.
I recently read a book on feng shui which surprisingly had a page or two on make-up, advising that you should update your look once a year, and chuck out last years' colours to avoid temptation. I loved that!

@Le Roux - you have a way of putting in to words, what most of us (well me anyway) cannot.
Everything you wrote has a truth to it, and makes sense, but I would stumble and stutter and screw it up if I tried to say it.
Big ups bud.
And ladies...........use it or don't, believe it or don't. You all have something beautiful to show.

First impression last ... the correct amount of make up is so important ... for sure a turn on if the lady looks nice with the right amount of make up on.

Less is more. I have yet to meet a man that likes a lot of makeup. I learned this valuable lesson in one of the most shallow movies ever (Clueless) at the tender age of 16.

I prefer to not wear makeup unless absolutely necessary, and often show up to work without makeup. When I do wear it, it's usually minimal amounts. Partly because of my dislike for makeup, partly because of my ignorance in how to apply it properly, and partly because I'm just extremely lazy. :D

@Julia, if you decide to offer training on the proper application of makeup, let me know. I'd take you up on it in a heartbeat.
