Everyday I open a news paper and social media I read about how kids and woman are going missing being raped or even killed ands it's getting worse by the day

That too but even more of a priority is we need to teach men and boys that females are not an item of property and theirs to do with what they want.

Just because they pay culturally or pay her monthly cr card bills gives men no right over a womans body or mind and doesnt entitle him to treat or do with her as he wants too.

The sooner men can start telling other men that they are doing wrong to a woman will be a ground breaking event but it seems that it will not ever happen in this country as people here never speak up when they witness wrong doing.

That hash tag shouldnt have been 'all men are trash' it should have been ' all men are cowards' for the reasons stated above.

Isn't it interesting how the world has supposedly changed with regards to female liberation, sexually, socially, proffessionally etc....yet violence towards women has grown to monstrous proportions. We are actually becoming more disempowered as the years pass and has anyone noticed how prevalent violent porn has become with regards to dominating women. Porn is also freely available to anyone with cellphones, so while you think you're raising your son's to respect women and your daughter's to respect themselves, your willingness to give them access to the internet, unsupervised, is tainting their perceptions of sex and undoing anything you might think you're teaching them. This is a big reason I dislike porn. Don't get me wrong, I'm not fully blaming porn or parents, but I believe it's a huge factor in the behaviour we see increasing each day. The ladies on here can attest to how they think porn affects their own clients sexual behaviour.

Society propagates this behaviour everyday! Women in their acceptance of it (thinking it liberates them sexually) and men that practice it.

That's just my opinion/observations based on various articles I've read over the years.

IMO, women can't do anything. Men need to get rid of the notion that men don't cry. I feel like Boys are conditioned to be a##holes. Boys need emotional support. Mental illness should be a priority in all men. Only then, I feel we can get somewhere.

I spent the weekend with family and a relative from CT was trafficked and found herself in Jhb. She did not even realise ahe was traficked. Thanks to a wide awake stranger, she was rescued by police and escorted home. And just as Veronica intimates ppl are laying the blame wholly at her feet.

Rape and violence towards women has very little, if any consequences these days and it further enforces what is going on. If you think what lengths men go to for sex in general, why would a bit of jail time or a suspended sentence etc be to steep a price to pay for forcing it on a woman....not that it's purely about sex, but the more women are seen as liberated, the more men try to claim their dominance back by force!

Its pretty much "normal" in South Africa these days. Everything is normal and justified. Killing foreigners (human beings by the way) is "normal".. Do it...you're safe...no consequences at all. Mob justice....no consequences there either. A human life is worth nothing in the South Africa we live in today. You can get away with everything. .......Fok...just making myself depressed...laat ek my koffie drink en n sigaret rook liewer.

Women must also wake up and accept that we are physically weaker, we have different functions to a man, in the home and in society. We won't ever be equal, because we are different, physically, emotionally and mentally. Liberation is about having equal opportunity in the work place, yes, but it doesn't mean we are so strong that we don't need them. Opening a door for us is just good upbringing on their part, it doesn't mean they think you are to weak to do things for yourself. It may seem I'm talking shit, but the more we divide the two sexes, the more we undo any respect men are taught to have for us and it starts with small things.

Dont forget those young boys abused at Park Town Boys High School. Sad times indeed.
