So once again our economy is held to ransom by the minibus mafia industry striking and preventing workers from getting to Work.

Their complaint is that the repayments on their vehicles is too high.
Reason being that the don't pay taxes and can't show a stable income. If you can't show income obviously whoever lends you money charges a premium.
High risk high reward .

Don't know if this government has the balls to even do anything about it.
lol Edna Monyane the JMPD talking head said motorists must not try to get through these illegal blockades by the taxis at Allandale .
I mean really.
Send the cops in and impound the illegal taxis.

We are in a recession!!!

None of my employees have turned up for work due to the taxi strike. Here's the thing: of 10 men and women that work for me 7 have never used a taxi to get to work because they live within 15 mins walking distance and have walked to work for the past 4 years..... Now I ask what the real problem is? I've closed the business down for today, phoned my customers and apologized and I won't be paying any of my staff for they days they are off for a 'Taxi Strike'.

Taxi drivers are the bastard children of apartheid policies. Most of these guys have no father figures in their lives. They are modern slaves to their taxi bosses and don't understand the concept of social cohesion. TIA

Would be interesting to see what would happen if somebody would prevent taxi drivers from going about their business. For example when authorities impounded unroadworthy vehicles, they nearly went berserk. Fine when they inconvenience everybody else, not so fine when the shoe is on the other foot. Inconsiderate low life twerps.

A day lost is what? .. about R4bn or R5bn lost to the govt. in tax?

Ah but not to worry, the cost of that mansion in Dubai will be squeezed out of us one way or another.
