anybody know of WGs who have been victims of the trafficking 'industry'
Met a lovely young lady in Randburg end last year (not from this site) and saw her for about 5 months. she then moved to Bocksburg.
one day she told me she was heading to the UK on a holiday - a gift from a client.
however, the client would travel before her - so she flew alone??
We had become quite close so I knew she would phone me when back. never heard from her again. Her Whatsapp page "disappeared". After about 3 months I visited the Bocksburg house to see what had become of her and her co-workers/friends there said they had not heard from her since she left??

am I imagining things???

Maybe she married the client.
By the way the UK has very strict trafficking laws so I doubt if a trafficker would take her there.
But one never knows.

No you are not imagining things. And it is not just limited to WG's, but to ordinary girls innocently lured overseas by the promise of work, never to be seen or heard of again.

Ever watched the movie "Taken" ?

In the movie they took American girls, which will have repercussions.

South African ladies and in fact ladies from poorer countries as well as poorer families are easy targets. They are innocent and naive, and ends up drugged and prostituted against their will until they die. No choices for them.

We have thoussands of rapes and killings on a monthly basis taking place in SA, which only becomes a statistic. Why ever would a disappearance of an easy target create any publicity at all ?

This is happening a lot. Scary to think about it. I have heard ladies talk about offers they had from "promotors" that will organise "modelling contracts" for them. I look at them and specifically at the tramp stamps they sport, and you just know that this girl is a goner. If you can't make a success here, how will you make it on the other side ? And to be a model with tramp stamps all over, it just defies logic.

Not much you can do about it, because usually the other options are exhausted. Really sad.

And the teaching jobs in Thailand is another trap. You need a teaching qualification before you will be able to work there. These "jobs" are offered to some ladies that have difficulty conversing in English, much less teach it, which is the language that you will be teaching there. And yet they are exited to go ? How stupid can you be ? And don't say anything to discourage them, then you are the party pooper.

Cheers

Get hold of a movie called 'Human Trafficking', based on occurances that actually took place. Its 'Taken' without the sugar coated Hollywood bullshit. I felt sick to my stomach after watching that. Met many ladies and heard many stories in the industry overseas and locally. young ladies in their early 20's are especially vulnerable on these sites because they always fall for these tactics promising fame and fortune as models etc and no one gives enough of a shit to even bother finding a hooker thats MIA.

You can warn and advise, but the ultimate decision is not yours to take. There is a price to pay for the choices we make

Guys watch a movie called Caged no more. Based on a true story. What some people will do for money is disgusting. There is a special place in hell for these assholes
