Just had a wonderful booking with a beautiful young man...who when he called asked me towards the end of the conversation if I see black men...yes I do...The hesitation in his voice was clear to me and that made me sad...I'm so glad to have met you today sir and thank you for understanding so deeply my grief and pain over losing my dog daughter almost 6 months ago. It's gentlemen like you who make my job a pleasure to do every day. Blessings xxx

Dear Jewel

It is a sad fact what you mentioned in your post, in terms of what that young man asked. 23 years after the birth of Democracy and our nation is still so racially divided... what I really mean is when the day comes that we can see eachother as humans and not as colours, that is the day of our human awakening.

But the reality is that many cannot bring themselves to do so and allow their inner beastly natures to take over.

I was in a cinema recently and overheard a racially charged comment about an upcoming super-hero movie that made me just as dissapointed in the people who commented. I was sad it was said and sadder that I could do nothing about it...intolerance prevails too often.

Still, I feel that your post was beautiful. On this forum there is a fair amount of negativity (a microcosm of our grander socio-political climate of late).. yet I just feel you are a truly wonderful person who took the time to get to know another wonderful person.

Imagine the possibilities for our world and the things that would never have come to pass in our sordid history if your way of thinking was adopted by more people and what could have been avoided in our history: Apartheid, Nazism, Kmer Rouge, Khmer rouge genocide, Slavery (worldwide).. the list is endless.

We humans are capable of creating the most horrible nightmares and the most awe-inspiring beauty.. in your experience with that young man it seems that you created a momentary dream that may have just made his day completely and showed him that affectionate kindness between humans of different races is not something dirty.

Many may twist my comments by saying it was simply business.. to them I refuse to comment.. but I think if we just could do that for one another, despite the horrors of this world that often surround us constantly, we could just perform a simple act of kindness.. just imagine.

I applaud you Jewel for being that one person to that young man.

Yes, granted it was business, but again.. to him it could've been something more important than that. You never know?

Peace to all

I applaud not only the fact that you are not a dirty biggot and that you choose to embrace all people regardless of race. I also applaud how open and forthcoming you are. I think this topic has been made so taboo that it's refreshing to see.

I'm going to come get a massage from you soon :)

My dear Gundie....yes this is my business but that doesn't mean I'm not capable of showing someone kindness and affection. I don't care who is lying on my massage plinth, I will always show them kindness and consideration and always do my best to give them the TLC they came to me for. Yes I am paid for the service I provide but that doesn't mean I'm mechanical or uncaring. In fact I care about every individual who comes to me, many don't get the care and attention they want and need at home or elsewhere and it gives me pleasure and satisfaction that I am able to make someone feel just a little better for a day, maybe two. Life is hard....There is no easy way to express that fact. We all fight our way through each day to the best of our abilities. If I can give just one person a small respite from this crazy world we've created then I can sleep soundly at night. It is my wish that one day we will see each other for the humans we are inside and not the tones of skin we show on our exteriors. Have a blessed day xxx

My dear GeneralMeek
There is in fact only ONE race....The human race....All this colour stuff is something invented by evil people to keep us divided because a divided people are more easily controlled....That is my opinion anyway ;) I will never be able to understand what others go through being in different skins...but like the dogs that I train and observe...socialisation is key to understanding how others work and communicate. I watch my puppy play bow which is an invitation to play, with other dogs, with people and with horses....and I wish there was something similar we humans could do to show others we want to get to know each other in a none confrontational manner....We have forgotten how to play and through play knowledge and understanding is attained....because when we are having fun positive bonds are formed and differences don't matter. Wishing you a blessed day :) xxx
