Wanted to ask about the window period as well, but I suppose the people at lancet gave you sufficient info..?

My opinion would be to do what you've done already, take the STD test now to confirm you don't have anything. And do it again after the window period, to confirm... Expensive but u know for sure where u got what from. What u do with that info then, depends on how pissed off u are... Think about it, if someone has something and this is their only way of making money are they going to stop putting other people at risk or disclose it, if they can't eat or pay the rent? Treat everyone as though they have an STD and u won't be sorry.

If it breaks it is advisable to take post exposure prophylactics - this is most effective within the first 72 hours and you will continue on them for at least 1 month but beware of the side effects depending on which ones you take the side effects may include nausea , loss of appetite etc
