Well there is the Museum of Reading, located in the town hall, I hear they have an excellent copy of the Bayeux Tapestry.

Then there is the Ure Museum which has a marvelous exhibit of Greek (snicker snort giggle) ceramics, or Mapledurham House, don't miss out on the tea room.

If you don't mind a short drive there is of course the Herb Farm out near Sonning (good real ale in a few pubs there also).
