My experience as a paralegal for three years. This isn't a case of theft that you can lay a charge against. It would be considered fraud if he took the money without intention of giving you the place but since he stated that he double booked you, the best course of action will be the small claim's court. You can register a case for up to R20k and it's free to do so.
Regarding the work, you can state that you are a masseuse. If he contends that he was unhappy with the work you were doing, show that you have worked there before as well as anyone else who has used it.
