Sometimes i can get pissed off way too easily.
A guy whatsapss and asks if I am Indian.... my add all say coloured. And thats what I replied.
He replies 'I am happy with you being coloured'. I really don't cate that he is happy with my being coloured. I AM COLOURED AND THE ONLY PERSON WHO NEEDS TO BE HAPPY WITH THAT IS ME.
The other day a guy asked if I am coloured or Cape Malay...... duh....it really makes no difference wrt what I do for a living. Cape Malay is a culture, not a look.
My rant for the day.

"Coloured or Cape Malay..." Lol!! Always blows my mind how little South Africans know about their own country and the people in it.

Fyi my birth certificate back in the day says Cape Malay. But coloured people from Cape Town don't really view Cape Malay and coloured as being 2 different things.

Imma gonna be a bit controversial here...
Bur strangely I've come across some individuals during my years in CT who actually make a distinction.
Hulle se as djy muslim is en straight hare het, en djy wiet wat is rampies sny, dan is djy cape malay.
But as djy kroes hare het en djy wiettie hoe om roetties te maak nie, dan is djy klora.
En djy wiet djy is vannie Plein as djy jou used tea sakkies oppie wasgoed lyn hang!

But either way, colored or cape Malay I have made life long friends from the cape flats and southern suburbs during my 6 years living in CT as a student at UCT.
Cape kallits (Malay or proper colored) have the absolute best sense of humor in the entire world! I love spending time with all my kallit brasse vannie kaap when I'm there!

I did exactly that. I just got the impression that he was one of those guys who thinks I should be honoured that he would be happy to book a coloured woman. Thats what ticked me off.
