I am not sure what the answer is, and dachef u right some of the responses are actually enticing trouble.
Maybe a read only situation will work, something esa should have a look at.
Like NM (original) says just because u a gold member doesn't mean u not going to cause trouble but I think it might stop a lot of the kak comments.

Exactly , a GM only site would have its own problems. Thats why the origonator should have some way to control the discussion and end it if it became a free-for-all
