Just whatsup status stalking lol

Know this amazing guy that I swear must be the best dad ever.

He recently started posting countdowns to Xmas.. making it so much fun for his kids.

Every morning he posts status update of something. I can't help myself..I have to go check it out.

Normally I don't care much about people posting stuff on whatsup statuses..but following his Xmas countdown has become an every morning habit now..hehehe..fyi he knows I follow the status updates.

I had a pretty ruff childhood and when I had my kids I was as dedicated as he seems to be to turn everyday and every moment into good memories for the kids.

No matter what is happening around the relationship and work and every other thing that has to be overcome daily he never looses sight of his children and their happiness.

He has found his joy in his children and has embrassed it 100%.

His statuses had me thinking of a lot of things.. in particular children that don't have strong role models like him in there lifes.

This morning I just want to take a moment and say to every mom and dad out there that makes time for their kids on a daily basis regardless of anything else happening in your lives.... you are amazing human beings.

Two xmasses ago we as a purple community managed to make Xmas a bit better for a whole lot of kids at a children's home.

This year I want to urge you to buy one extra Xmas present it does not have to break the bank and take it to a child that you know might not have all this love and support on a daily and maybe just make one day special for them and by doing that help create a memory that they will cherish when they get older.;)

Little feeling fussy and warm moment here, hope that you all have a blessed holiday season..keep spreading the love.

Oh yes. Countdowns to Christmas is so exciting for kids. And yes, we can all afford 1 extra little gift.
I had a good childhood for the most part but I seem to remember the gifts outsiders gave, more than I remember what my parents gave us. An elderly aunt who was a tealady and didn't have much money, always gave the best gifts. They were small and inexpensive but we always seemed to treasure her's more than the others. Sometimes it was a pretty hair clip or those little beaded purse or a lace edged handkerchief. But they were treasured little knick-knacks.
You gave me an idea now. The other day I saw little girls necklaces for R5-10. Think I should go get some of them for some kids.
Thanks Miss Red for the wake-up call. I see all the Christmas humdrum but quite frankly I had my head up my arse. Wasn't really thinking too much about Christmas.

@ nadia... like you I aint a big fan of the overall "xmas" hype and advertising.. Think people loose sight of the whole meaning of the celebration... but it is as good reason as any other to spread some joy and love in small ways. I still have a crocheted book cover that was given to me at age 10 by an old lady that use to live few houses down from us on my bday.... it has covered many books in the past 37 years, especially when I traveled or went on holidays, it has been mended so many times.. but still have it.:)
