Be careful in Shanghai(Nanjing road), or you will get scammed like I did a few years ago. They operate the Chinese tea scam (Google for more info and stories of how this goes down).
I was approached by two hot girls, they said they were students and asked if they can walk with me a bit so they can practice their English. After a while they suggested we go for coffee - since I had time to kill I agreed. They led me through the crowds and into a clothing shop, upstairs was a decent looking restaurant. We sit down at the table and after some chit chat the waiter brings a menu written only in Chinese.
The girls order some whiskey and a fruit platter. We eat and drink and they order more whiskey etc. After a while they suggest we get a private room. I agree and off we go. In the private room the chicks give me a bit of a hand job and start ordering shitloads more drinks and food. When its time for me to go the waiter brings a bill for like $
1250.00. I call the manager and protest, but they insist the bill is due to the girls ordering the most expensive whiskey brand.
I check around and realise the exit is blocked by some bad ass Chinese bouncers. So I am basically trapped. I manage to negotiate a payment of $
600.00 and get the fuck out of there. The girls act all apologetic etc., but by now I am pissed since I realise I was scammed. The police at the airport weren't too sympathetic either.
So be warned. You will get approached, so toy with those bitches. Make sure you choose the establishment, and do the ordering yourself. Maybe you will be luckier than me ...
