The algorithm suggests people it thinks you may know based on metrics. Good reason why guys and girls should use burner SIMs and phones for this industry and their stage names on social media. Some ladies do use their work numbers to open social media accounts with their stage names to promote their content and services. Never ever use your private number for your ad or punting if it's linked to your private social media with personal details.

Algorithm... maybe your phone Instagram and the lady's phone Instagram used location proximity. Both phones app realized you'll are next to each other. Then the second Algorithm rule matched her Instagram friend in sandton as a suggestion based on industry.

Anyway I like Ashleigh's understanding of the Algorithm and also Instagram Facebook and whatsapp are owned by Meta. So they'll apply whatever logic across platforms to auto suggestion. You not hacked.. just complex logic..

I nearly died while scrolling through Facebook. A wg I saw in February popped up on my friend suggestions list and we have NO mutual friends. Thank you guys and girls for this.

Anyone found a way to work around this yet?

A couple of years ago, a wg I knew used to search punters on Facebook through their phone numbers. She found out their real names. Facebook has now disabled that feature.

Get a punting sim. If you use your phone to call WG and it's the same phone you use to go into Facebook the algorithm will suggest her as a Facebook friend because it has picked up the connection
