There is a pandemic spreading at a killer pace and it is going undetected or otherwise, like most challenging problems, being swept under the carpet.

The pandemic...
The degeneration of self-worth and the loss of empathy toward oneself and others.

Either...
We bask in our achievements, and like Icarus, fly too close to the sun, and heed the call of that one line of cocaine or pop a pill or two while revelling in the company of the beautiful, rich and famous....forgetting our humble beginnings and shouting out our own self praise

Or

We drown in the need to survive, depression and self-hate too heavy to bare thus blanketing our thoughts with hazy drowning images induced from sniffing whatever makes one high......

Or

Being pressured to join in and..."Come baby, u will love it. And then let me f*** you like a porn star".

Again.

Much easier said than done

But

ONLY we ourselves can issue that licence called

"Licence to destroy me".

May we all be blessed and protected against the sweet temptation of that which eats at the core of our goodness, for we are all born in the image of what is pure and good.

Beautiful women( and their pretty feet.)
Delicious food and drink.
Chilling with friends and family.

But no, many prefer DRUGS!!!

@Awesomeness. Your poem says it all. A person really hits rock bottom when they have to fight a battle against themselves every day for the next fix. Drugs destroy everything.

Amber u say was is she still in prision or given up meth or is she no longer. She sure is poetic alcohol and drugs make u become very artistic. I know I definetly get my brightest ideas very clear when I'm slightly tipsy.

She was probably in so much remorse drugs wernt nessesary.Eminem has written his best stuff sober .But I also become William shakespear after a few lol....I just know she was in jail when she wrote it.
