The SA Law Commission report on sex work was released yesterday.
The report recommends that the current legislation stay the same (the preferred option.)
The other option mentioned is partial criminilisation.
The matter is now up for discussion.
Looks to me like the same laws might be operating for at least another 5 years.

The reasons given by the SA Law commission for not legalizing prostitution - poverty, abuse against women, human trade - are exactly the reasons why it should be legalized like any other profession.
What does not make sense is that you may sell your soul, brain power, ears, eyes or back muscles to a company/employer/customer, but not the benefits (pleasure?)of your pussy or dick. Totally illogical.
I would think that the Commission erred in terms of our constitution which guarantees freedom of association and many other freedoms of choice. Obviously limits must be set where one's activities are detrimental to society, but sex between two consenting adults, whether free or paid for, cannot be proven to be detrimental to society.
