Saffer mentioned that you need to control your level of participation - i think this is relative. My 1st couple of punts have been nerve wrecking to say the least, i would ponder the decision for days. Now much less so. So i think that as time goes, you get more 'submerged' in punting...
And as for being cynical? Difficult to say...
But, i have to agree with Julian - it has definitely helped with confidence around woman...

As regards punters not standing a chance in real life; yes, probably. I think the immoral nature of the transaction probably blurs our judgement, and works both ways. I am yet to meet a SP that I would consider worthy of a place at my table of life.
The highest risk for punters and SPs alike is probably the early stages. You have to see it for what it is; as Veronica says, it is what it is, nothing more.
