Cellphones and Data - south africans spend a disproportionately large amount of money on cellphones and data relative to income.
Do u really need the latest iPhone or S8? Or would a cheaper model not be good enough?

For those on pay as u go consider buying data in bulk. Im talking 50, 100 or 200gigs
Works out to more then 10 times or more cheaper then the cheapest normal pay as u go ( yes 10 times!!!!)

Shop around for cheapest rates. Dont just be blindly loyal to one network. Loyalty gets u nothing in the modern world.

Consider even using 2 networks if practical. I use one number as my primary number on network A due to the best reception on voice calls. Then use another number on network B as it has much cheaper data rates. Make use of the promotions on each network for calls (for eg cell c gives u free cellc to cellc calls for every airtime load). The big 3 networks all have promotions on calls to numbers to their own networks. So if u have sim cards on 2 of these networks u score on these. Especially handy for longer calls.
