It's the little things

Guys think we are all about the money and money only. Yes of course I like a handsome tip or a bottle of perfume, etc.
Well, I had someone the other day that surprised me. It was as of we knew each other very well. He brought an energy drink and some sweets that I really like. He added a handwritten note with my money inside. It was just the sweetest gesture. Maybe it's just a throwback. I was taught to always drop a thank you note. My bestie will always send a thank you message even though she thanked me at Wimpy for the
milkshake. If I take her son out with me, she will message to say thank you, every single time.
Now, I am not saying guys should send thank you notes or chocolates, although I do appreciate it.It's just that it was such a nice touch and it wasn't wasted on me. I couldn't tell or show anybody in my inner circle.
It's little things that count, not just in the Purple Republic, but everyday, everywhere. It's that smile when you greet the cashier at Checkers, the good morning to the car guard, getting the Weetbix of the top shelf on PnP for an ouballie who can't reach the top or bottom shelves, pushing out a frail neighbour's wheelie bin.
We are so busy chasing the next best thing that we forget to appreciate the good thing right in front of our nose.
