Most popular and big brand hotels in Cape Town work with Key cards, But I do know the Fountains hotel in the CBD does not. That may be a good option for you. Also i have also found that certain hotels even though they have key cards your "guess can come to the covered parking area and you can collect her from the parking and go straight to your rooom floor.

Ask her to report to reception and they will call your room to authorize her passage.
