Every person including me have a good and bad side... we're all human and we all make mistakes. Try not to ALWAYS search for the bad in a person ... Try not to ALWAYS remember their mistakes... if you don't like a person why ALWAYS attacked her/him on the forum? Why not just moving on... scroll down... ignore... and forget?

I want to use Shakira as an example... for those who hates her, please just move on. Some might think she's a lier but I only know her as the woman I had fun with... she makes me laugh and with her I never have to pretend... I never have one dull moment! I can just be who I am and if I want to say "fuck" she won't judge me. When I was in a state of loneliness and despair she took an Uber and come to visit me... She don't talk shit behind my back... She's my friend and I love her just the way she is. Now that's what I call a true friend.

"The evil that men do lives after them;
the good is oft interred with their bones."
Mr. W. Shakespeare.

Translation for the illiterate:
The bad things that people do will always be remembered.
The good things that people do will be forgotten when they die.

@ Uncle Ben (as most people here would refer to you, purely out of respect)

In short, illiterate refers to people who are unable to read or write (and no, i don't want the whole 9 yards of what it means)

But, please enlighten the purple-landers... since when are people who do not understand or comprehend Shakespearen referred to as being illiterate (unable to read or write) ???

Surely, if they were really illiterate (unable to read or write) they wouldn't be able to read your 'literate' translation either.

Lastly, as the topic suggests : TRY TO SEE THE GOOD IN PEOPLE !!!!!!!

@suzook
Whilst I understand the point you are trying to make about Oom Ben's often misinterpreted disdain he shows for the non-Shakespearean inclined amongst us, please bear in mind that the English language is replete with words that have more than one meaning. As animals that are lucky enough to have freedom of choice we are able to use any the meanings as we see fit. In this case the word illiterate, besides the obvious definition you supplied can also be defined as;
Having or demonstrating very little or no education.
Showing lack of culture, especially in language and literature
Displaying a marked lack of knowledge in a particular field
I think you will find that Ben had one of these meanings in mind when he chose to use the word illiterate in his post............

......... Fuck. Now I have a problem - I have tried to see the good in Ben's post but in doing so I have tried not to see the good in Suzook's....... Everything can be so subjective in life...... Ms Paige's post could be more about having respect for other people's perspective than the simple tiitle of this thread suggests........ Fuck sorry about the rambling so early in the morning - I've possibly been hanging around INL too long!! *drops mic amidst catcalls*

Credit to Dr G. for supplying the above definitions.

Perhaps "untutored" or "unlettered" would have been nearer the mark.

Sir, your post is lucid, well thought out and even to me that is part of the illeterate, understandable. Rest assured Sir, this is not even remotely close to my insane drunken pseudo-intellectual ramblings that I have become known for. You have thus not regressed to my dark level, so take faith in that, the way down to me is littered with empty bottles of (good) wine. All empty I am sorry to say. LOL

Suzook : never too old to learn ?

Cheers
