Working girls and guys are at a high risk for contacting and transmitting Hepatitis and Cervical cancers -(most cervical cancers are caused by HPV.) Both of these conditions can be prevented by vaccinating. A number of years ago, Australia rolled out an HPV vaccination program which, apparently, has since demonstrated a reduction in cervical cancer among Australian women. SA is attempting to do the same thing with HPV vaccines.

Health care workers are required, by law, to be vaccinated against Hep B. It protects them and their patients. Working girls and guys are probably as much at risk as most health professions.
I think that vaccinating to protect yourself agaist these conditions would be wise. What do you think?

My understanding of the HPV vaccine(s) is it must be taken before you lose your virginity. It's probably a bit late for the absolute majority of people on this site.

That's a mistake. It must be taken before you contract HPV. Losing your virginity does not necessarily mean you'll get HPV, unless you lose it with someone who has HPV.

The ideal age is pretty much for men and women under the age of 26. Studies have not been concluded in it's effectiveness over the age of 26. The recommendation is for girls aged 12 to be vaccinated, and it has become part of the immunizations children receive, although, to my understanding, it is not required for boys in S.A. ( baffeling as it does affect men too!)

My opinion, if you haven't had your shot - get it done sooner rather than later.
