Ladyluxxx - awesome take on this. This was exactly the train of thought i was on...
Saffer mentioned that you need to control your level of participation - i think this is relative. My 1st couple of punts have been nerve wrecking to say the least, i would ponder the decision for days. Now much less so. So i think that as time goes, you get more 'submerged' in punting...
And as for being cynical? Difficult to say...
But, i have to agree with Julian - it has definitely helped with confidence around woman...

How does it help with confidence around women when our affection, bodies etc are paid for upfront and 'most'(not all) punters would not stand a chance with many of us in real life, whereas normal ladies have the option of who she would want to spend her time and body on. The dynamics of fake vs real in this industry are very blurred for most punters.

This is a very hard topic to respond on in its vast variety of reasons vs experience etc. Not as black and white as most think. Punting helps many for various reasons, but can also be very destructive to both sp and client in more ways! It is what it is. I too am in this industry to make money, but it has both damaged and helped me. I've met so many punters with the same reservations about Punting and have helped many and seen many leave because it was destructive to their lives. Some are just to hooked though and don't make an effort to leave.

Somewhat unrelated, I often wonder why drug addicts are frowned upon in this industry that in itself is an addiction that can be just as harmful. Addiction in order to fuel another addiction in essence?

Edited to highlight some of your valid points; hope you don't mind Veronica.

It doesn't improve my confidence with women; I'm not that naive. I know that I'm paying for a service. This is where the blurred lines come in; I can see how some punters fail to keep a grip on reality.

Let's say you turn to punting due to a lack of affection at home. You encounter a great GFE and next thing your mind is racing. This is as a result of the release of oxytocin, also known as the 'cuddle hormone'. This lowers our defences and makes us trust people more. But men also have to contend with high doses of dopamine, or the pleasure hormone, and this is addictive. The point is that you have to cognitively intervene. When you have a surge of emotions or a burning desire for repeat behaviour you have to use your head and rationalise what is going on. If you don't you are potentially setting yourself up for negative consequences.

As regards punters not standing a chance in real life; yes, probably. I think the immoral nature of the transaction probably blurs our judgement, and works both ways. I am yet to meet a SP that I would consider worthy of a place at my table of life.

The highest risk for punters and SPs alike is probably the early stages. You have to see it for what it is; as Veronica says, it is what it is, nothing more.

All sounds very logical but how realistic is that; That you see it for what it is, more so for the punters. Criteria for a good GFE session which is what would continously make you return to that specific girl is her ability to make you believe that she enjoys it and she does so primarily because of you.

I completely understand how this could improve a guy's confidence, even if paid for I do not see how you escape the illusion of your company or abilities being enjoyable

Sad but probably very true.
