I sometimes visit a WG who is on this site and who works at Mazaya Hotel in Croydon. She told me she knew of a guy who was robbed there, but I haven't had problems. But I do leave my wallet in the car. And make sure she locks the flat front door.

I have heard Mazaya is bad news in Croydon but there are decent hotels there where it's safe.

Mazaya used to have a security guard on duty but that is a thing of the past. My last visit was late in 2016,had no issues.
