I deleted my account for business and legal reasons. I was involved in a rather nasty court case involving a business partner who shared my interest in this lifestyle. To my knowledge however, he was not a member of ESA. He did not know about my account but I could not take any chances.
Legal battles are ugly and although I am not married - I did not want some of the stories regarding my punting history shared in a court of law.
Somehow telling the forum that I enjoyed a 24 hour booze filled sex binge in an Amsterdam brothel does not quite sound the same when standing in a court of law.

I did not stop punting through this, I just stayed off the forum and came back a little wiser.

I won my case BTW.

I think it is wrong to show users as [deleted]... Sure - let them close their accounts but leave the usernames next to the comments they posted.

Hi Guys

About 3, maybe 4 years ago, one of the punters browsed the site in a private/incognito window, when his other half walked in, saw his username in the corner of the screen, stormed out the house, parked her car in some unknown location, refused his calls, created her own account on her cellphone, and started reading every intimate review he ever created. This all happened at 11:30pm, late at night, when the office was closed and nobody in our support department checked email (we're not a 24 hour operation).

He desperately tried to contact us, sent multiple emails and filled up our PABX voice mail boxes... begging us to please delete his posts (back then we had no delete function). Minutes counted. And every minute that passed meant another one of his reviews were read.

As you can imagine, by the time we received his messages in the morning, 8 hours later, the guy was furious. The damage has been done. Ugly threats were made.

It is for this reason that we can never take away the visitor's ability to delete his username next to each post.

The best we can do is to provide an option on the "Delete Account" page stating "Please leave my username next to existing posts".

In other words, it always will be a visitor choice, not an ESA choice.

Today I have to come up with a search/listing system for the new "Private Notes" system we launched yesterday and we're also working on a new video system. When that is done I will implement this new "Please leave my username next to existing posts" system.

Regards

James

So punter cheats on his wife on his own accord. Gets caught and threathens ESA for not saving him? Goodness gratious what ever happened to taking personal responsibility for your own actions and stupidity? 😲

@Mujahid001 here here! Couldn't agree more. Sorry that guy got caught out. Not sure why it falls on ESA's shoulders to protect him / them. It's pretty clear in the site terms and conditions that any content you post here becomes the property of ESA, so I guess they are free to destroy parts of their own property, but *very* few forums do this. In fact there is only one other I have encountered in the hundreds of forums I have participated in or run myself that does things this way. If his car has a tracker for insurance purposes is he going to expect them to delete all their tracking data showing his vehicle parked at Heaven on Earth or outside some WG's apartment? Not so much. He got caught. His problem. I too wish we didn't have this "deleted" thing. It makes it hard for us punters to do our own "forensic" research if we think an old user is coming back under a different guise.
