Well spotted Tizz

A riddle within a riddle...lol

Lightswitches: only works with incandescent lights (not FL)!

You're in the room so know if the light is On or Off.
You remove the bulb/globe.
You go through the door, close it, and remove the cover of the 3 switches.
With a multimeter you check if there's current flowing through them when switching them > 1 will not, and that is the one controlling the light!
Note I haven't opened the door to go In, only to go Out.

If I start outside the room (but don't think your Q reads this way, or put it this way: I think it allows for you being in the room at the start) I start by measuring the current through the switches and memorize these.
Then I go into the room the 1 time allowed and I remove the bulb/globe.
I go out, close door and measure the current through the switches again > and the one not pulling current is the light's one!

1. Turn on the switch A for about 5 minutes.
2. Turn off switch A, and turn on switch B then open the door.

If the bulb is "ON" it is switch B. Else if the bulb in "OFF" but it's hot, it is switch A. Otherwise, it is switch C.

But, the Q does not state that the light is off when you start - and, lights can be switched by more than only 1 switch (cross/series or switchover circuits) so the switch's position is not necessarily a giveaway... hence MY solutions.

Pls post the original question if possible? Because I'd argue with the judging panel on a few points (light on of off & inside or outside of the room at the start) if yours is a verbatim copy, and I bet the word 'globe' is used to tell what light-type is concerned. My multimeter is not excluded either but I'll admit it pushes the envelope a bit, sure you'll agree ;-)

Let's help you out then.
Remember that the 3 switches apparently are normal, single circuit On/Off lightswitches of which you can see if they're set to On or Off!
If you're inside the room you know the light's On or Off.

Assume it's On.
Go outside to the switches, see which one's set to On.
If 1 you have your answer.
If 2 switch 1 off, open door, ogle and you'll know the answer.
If 3 then switch all 3 off, wait half an hour for cooling off, then proceed as per Sam's solution.
Remember, you're allowed to have 1 peek by going In - which is something different than leaving the room.

If it's Off go outside and refer to same Sam's same ;-)
