Quoted from Obenewa Amponsah, CEO Steve Biko Foundation.
"our objective is the 3 c's -
consciousness- who am I

Community - what is my place in the world

Course skills - helping people develop their ideas and actions and make them a reality."

Lectures to be held at UNISA.

I wonder what kind of support and attendance will be in force.
.......as apposed to the violence and destruction of educational institutions.

Destabilisation of education is a sin and worse than any dictatorship as it takes away the power from the people.

While universities fall, the rest of the world fights for awareness of STEM education and empowering the youth to be part of a very competative and cut throat global economic market.

Sigh....

Battles should be "fought" on the correct forum.

The 3 c's sounds like a very good course not only for university but for all people.

As for the disruption of education well one has to look deeper and assess the cause of this action. We have a major problem with the number of economically inactive young adults sitting with no options at a future. Again we have to look at the cause and put a plan in place to sustainably address these for normality to resume

Two decades after the acronym STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) became commonplace in conversations around competitive skills for career success, the global focus has shifted from STEM to STEAM – the ‘a’ being representative of the Arts.

Consciousness - Yes
Community - Yes, no man/woman is an island
Course - The theory and practical is key
Compassion - So critical in today's world.

The knave's contribution....

I don't get it.
Why do most people wait to be employed. Develop a skill and start a business. That way you call the shots. I know funding funding funding is an obstacle. For one, you can start small and grow, thats how many business were started and have grown into huge empires. There are also many opportunities that require very little capital. Find a need/problem and provide a solution. The most important ingredient is passion and the courage to take calculated risks. So much for the preaching on a punting site.

Good evening Jasimo

Knave?
If u are referring to a man of humble disposition
Yes.

Knave?
A rascal or rogue, I truly doubt.

Compassion.....wonder how many people understand that feeling and don't see it as a weakness.

Thank u for the link. Receive my daily dosage from Edie Fraser and team as to the progress and growth of support for STEM programmes.
Tonight I have learnt something new to look into.

The arts...when is Knave Jasimo going to take me to the arts so we can blow off some "steam"?

A very cloudy good morning to u Funtrip.

You are very right. Even in this environment as a service provider those principles apply.

It is about the money and the bottom line ( let us not fool ourselves), like any business establishment from corporates right down to the small business man or woman on the street.

Excellence and longterm sustainability can many a time be warranted to understanding the market and its requirement, a passion to ensure whatever is on offer is delivered, care for the market targeted and reliability.
I think a level of honesty and integrity are also very important.

Sometimes much easier said than done.
In other cases it may be a fact of being in the right place at the right time, recognizing the opportunity and grabbing it by the horns.

As to this forum....
Reading between the lines of many a post, there are very worldly people here with an abundance of knowledge and experience and experties.
Some know how to share it in a gentle coaxing way, while others still need to learn the finesse shared in a boardroom .

All I can say....everytime I read, I learn a Little more...
