It is with great regret that we have to cancel our birthday party which was scheduled for friday the 18th of October 2002 at Pharaohs in Midrand.

At around 9am this morning I received a call from the South African Police Services warning me that if I intended to have escorts at my birthday party they will have no choice but to act against me and the escorts on the evening in question.

I felt that this is really well beyond ridiculous but I do not want to risk putting the girls or the ESA members in jeopardy, so after much soul searching I have decided to cancel the party. I really hate to do this as I so wanted to meet all of you.

I think when things get more relaxed relating to the industry we will again look at having a get together.

Now that prostitution is declared illegal again, does that mean that I am a criminal if I approach one of the sex therapist advertised on your site to offer her services to me?

The Constitutional Court has brought some clarity to a section of the law which as been unclear for quite a while now. Prostitution was never legalized in South Africa. Offering ones sexual services for gain is covered by the Sexual Offences act I believe and it is an offence which one could be arrested for.

Previously if one was caught with an escort by the police it was unlikely that any action would be taken against you. Now however it seems that the police will act against you if you are caught.

I would not encourage you to break the law; you could very well be exposed to criminal sanctions if caught with an escort. I really don
