There is a trial starting for Prep medication, by Wits university.

Basically they want to roll out PreP so you don't need to go to clinic or doctor to get a prescription.

It is all free. If you need other medication to treat anything else related to the trial (like an STI), it is prescribed free.

The trial is for 13 months, you get the meds enough for every 3 months.
You have to be HIV negative,and you get tested with the every 3 month visit to the pharmacy.

The first visit takes about an hour as they do your checks and blood tests. After that it is just picking up the meds and getting the HIV test.

Check there and follow instructions. I had to mail them as well as this new process is still finding it's feet.

Think it worth the while for any sexually active person and gives that extra layer is protection and peace of mind over condoms that do fail.

My question is how long will you be on these Prep meds for? Serious liver and kidney damage could occur over extended use. The medication was not designed for life long usage.

It's not an easy pill for sure . I personally I drink the nice one that doesn't get you dizzy.the one pill is for morning time. The other one is for night time
