What would be the right amount for traveling and doing out calls? Look I know everyone is different and gives different services to there clients. I for one haven't changed my rates on out bookings, its been like this for over a year, but on traveling expenses yes. I cant compare my services with other girls and wouldn't even tri. But why charge R6000/10000 for one night? I don't even ask that much when I travel to another country. My rates is still R3500/R4000 or depending on what I should do for the night (then the amount could change),unless I have a special on allnighters. Have a Fab week everyone. ;-)

My immediate thought is your usual hourly fee plus a percentage (10% - 15% ?) plus all travel fees and time.

To my mind it very much depends on your usual hourly rate. But the “right amount” for you should not be too difficult to calculate.

With an out call or overnight I expect to pay all travel expenses and time for travel. Maybe it’s only me but I think it is justified.

A lot of people forget that if you travel an hour to get there you will need to travel and hour back. These are two hours that you cannot dedicate to yourself or your work. In business they need to be paid for.

Personally I discount my hourly fees when travelling on business so you may decide to charge the total travel time minus a percentage (30% - 50% ?)

When doing an out call or overnighting you have inconvenience and the hazard in being away from your venue where you have control over security. I charge extra for extra inconvenience and urgent, unusually demanding or dangerous work. Why shouldn’t you.

There is a “sweet spot” with fees. I could discount my standard fees but that would negatively impact my lifestyle. I could increase my standard fees but that would see some client’s go elsewhere for my services. But broadly speaking if your hourly fee is fixed then it is just a matter of calculating the extra percentages. Market forces will dictate what is acceptable and you will figure it out soon enough if you have been over the top.

If you are not excessive you will have no problems and if someone believes you charge too much then let them go somewhere cheaper. I do not accept any one cheapening my professionalism and ability, neither should you.

Say your hourly rate is R1000. If you're doing an allnighter from say 8pm to 8am, than it would be R12000. Obviously it doesn't work that way since you'd be asleep for 8 hours or so, allnighter or not. So R3500 to R4000 is about right...

muffman you have it all wrong , welcome to the real world

if said lady charged R1000.00 per hour , the rate in my opinion should be as follow
although the rate is per hour , it takes an hour and a half , from start of one booking to start of next, half hour is reserved to grab a quick bite, freshen up and allow previous client to vacate safely so a direct translation of time VS cash would be R8000.00 for the required 12 hrs , then most lasdies will not have a 100% occupancy , they need to set the figure here , I would guess it would be around the 60% mark for ave WG , IE she will have 10 available slots a day and only fill 5 a day on ave per week
this calculates out to R2400.00 per allnighter
but then again its willing buyer willing seller deal

When i book an allnighter, i definitely do not expect to sleep for 8 hours.

Well said Ash1. Guys some guys would like to stay awake and enjoy the company as well as a few extra rounds. Goodness knows I've had many all nighters where we stayed awake almost the whole night. This differs from client to client. Please remember we are not all the same and this is what makes us interesting. My all nighter rates range from R2000 - R4000 depending on the distance I have to travel and the hrs the client will be in need of my services as well as if I have a special running or not.

And the rate is edging closer and closer to that magical number that I was slaughtered about not so long ago on this forum.

Just much quicker than I predicted.

My number was R 1,500-00 for an overnighter.

We are but R 500-00 away from it and that is without a special ?

Think I should change my username to : Nostradamus

No I cant, my rate PH(cant say) is what it is and my allnighters to. There's also been a lot of bookings where there was no sleep and banging the walls down, So the next day im totally f#### and cant work. So im loosing out on a whole 5hour day to make a booking and being on the road and put youre life at risk with clients you don't know. Its a hectic business and have to work on instincts to feel the bookings going to go smooth. Wonder if client know how much we put in a allnighter even before we get to you? So ja, I feel like the kind of service I provide my rate is fair.
