Hi guys,

I see that the new C-coupe will launch soon. Fucking expensive tho.

Can anyone of the in the know punters advice whether the Agility package offered by Merc is worth looking into or is it just another Residual deal which is not feasible.

i always in the past either paid cash or hire-purchased my cars. Currently driving another german and want to keep it but damn the new C-coupe looks kak jas and I wouldnt mind getting one of those

I bought the new C63S on the agility plan. My second car on the plan. Monthly payments are more affordable but you end up with nothing at the end of the term.
You have the benefit of not to worry to get rid of it at the end of the term. The more expensive cars are not that easy to get rid off.
Make sure you take at least the 20000km/annum and use the miles. If you dont you loose.

My first on the plan was the previous C63 Coupe which I sold after 14 months for slightly more than the outstanding balance.

Good luck

thanks for the reply boss.

I didnt know you can sell the car yourself before 36 months. i thought you just give the vehicle back, buy at or finance the book value again if you want to keep the existing vehicle.

Im a charou and dont like the idea of paying for 3 years and not owning anything at the end

You can sell at any time.As long as you pay the outstanding balance that you still owe.

decided not to trade in my current vehicle. will drive it for another 12 months or so before splurging on another depreciating asset!

Rather use my disposable income on punani :-)

The new C-class coupe looks awesome. Pity I need something more practical and spacious.

My advice, if you can't buy cash, which is difficult for most of us, at least try and put down a huge deposit and pay the car off as quickly as possible. I paid my Mercedes off in two years and have been driving it for about 6. With a FULL motorplan it only costs me insurance, petrol and tyres. But I need to look for something else as motor plan will soon run out. Forget about leasing, and deals with residuals and balloon payments, etc. You end up spending so much if you want to keep the car, or if you change it for a new one every few years you just continue to have car payments forever and a day that keep increasing with every new car that you get.

And it will mean that you will have to be more reasonable with what you buy, but guess what, living within your means and not keeping up with the Joneses has never hurt anyone.

Certainly did not hurt me.
I bought my jalopy for cash for R45k in the year 2000.
Company car.
Still going strong.

I have an holy aversion to debt.
I am way down the social ladder.
I don't get invited to weddings etc.
But hey, I sleep very well !
