I got contacted this morning by a policeman - who truecaller identified as Capt [ Removed by ESA admin ], but he introduced himself as a different name, and Detective not captain ... red flag number one.

He then asked if he could have a few minutes of my time, and proceeded to tell me that he was working on a case of rape and fraud... red flag number two

So, since I haven't punted in about a year (don't live in Gauteng anymore) and I would never rape or defraud anyone, I just laughed it off and blocked his number.

It did happen last time I was in Pretoria and I enquired about rates etc with a WG, but didn't make use of her services (different tel number, same bullshit story about rape and fraud)

I'm not sure if I am allowed to mention the WG from last year, or post the tel number for today's incident?

Anyway, just be vigilant out there guys

Don't post names and numbers mate it will just lead to trouble rather report to ESA and if punters request info then use private message

Post the number so we know who to block on whatsapp etc

Not everyone who uses this site reads the forums every day, and some of the newer people might be caught off-guard

I think it's good to highlight these incidents, with who else are you going to raise it? Also they might change their methods and there may be education for others and one might be able to figure out, even if it is through DM'ing each other which girls are behind the scams because they are getting numbers from advertisers on this site.

It will be difficult to prove which advertisers are the culprits, but if multiple punters are flagging a particular advertiser as a potential culprit, I think there are fair grounds for ESA to block that advertiser off the site. You got to root this out at the source, the advertisers, it's very difficult to catch these guys, they change numbers often and many of them are phoning from the "comfort" of their jail cell.

Perhaps ESA should have a specific scam report button or even just a dedicated scam report email address so that scam reports are centralised in one place and not lost amongst other communication where they can easily see if trends in relation to certain advertisers appear. That will up a long way to rooting out scams on ESA and give punters and honest wg's a lot more comfort. It can be limited to advertisers and gold members as an additional benefit to take out gold membership, therefore an immediate financial benefit to ESA as well so everyone wins.

I wonder after the raid on Sun City and the number of cell phones found if this will slow down a bit now. Till they get new ones!

Maybe it will become a tad more difficult (but not impossible) to get phones in and do these activities under the new correctional services minister. Ek dink nie hy vat kak van kabouters nie!
